I recently had the chance to meet Lennox Lewis at the 9 Mile Music Festival which was amazing by the way. You can read more about it soon. At first I thought it was him but I wasn’t sure because it’s just not every day that you run into an undisputed heavy weight champion of the world. It turned out that my friend’s boyfriend knows him very well. They are buddies! So I was formally introduced to him. I will not deny the fact that for a split second I feared his handshake would crush my fingers. To my relief, it didn’t.

Turns out Lennox (we are on a first name basis now ) is amazing! He is such a sweet heart and I found it hard to believe that this person who came across so gentle could actually smash your face in with little effort. In addition to being nice, he is also thoughtful. At one point (in the VIP section) my friends and I were eating and Lennox walked over to me just to let me know that dessert was available. Yes, he walked all the way to my table just to let me know that.  Anyone that notifies me of available dessert is automatically on my good list.

Here is a bit more info about Lennox:

According to wiki: Lennox is a retired boxer and the most recent undisputed world heavyweight champion. He holds dual British and Canadian citizenship. As an amateur he won gold representing Canada at the 1988 Olympic Games after defeating future heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe in the final. Lewis is regarded by many as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time.

Also fun to know:

Lennox knocked out Shannon Briggs (1998)  Mike Tyson (2002) and Hasim Rahman in a rematch.

He is 6’5

At his retirement, Lewis’s record was 41 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw, with 32 wins by knockout. (wiki)

He is a badass.

It was great to meet him and I hope to see him again soon!
